Cooper's 1st Thanksgiving!

Cooper’s 1^st Thanksgiving was a very exciting one for all of us; we spent the week in New York with Scott’s family.  This was Cooper’s 2^nd visit to NY as well as his 2^nd time on a plane.  As you can imagine, he was a little busier this time J.  We arrived on the 21^st to Papa waiting for us at the airport with open arms and a grin from ear to ear.  Before we knew it, we were at my parents’ house and Cooper was already in the thick of things playing with his cousins and getting loved on by Nana and his Aunts.  They hadn’t seen him since early July so they were excited to see how much he had grown and changed during that time. 

Mother Nature saw to it that Cooper got to experience his first snowfall early in the season as we woke up to about 6 inches on Wednesday morning.  He just kind of stared out the windows at it trying to figure out what it was.  Unfortunately, he did not have the gear to go out and play in it.  We don’t have much of a need for it in Georgia. 

Thanksgiving was quieter than most years but very nice still the same.  There was a piece of all of us missing not having Uncle Peter there for the first time.  The turkey just didn’t taste the same without him carving it.  Cooper fully participated in the meal, sitting in the highchair eating his turkey and turnip.  He seemed to really enjoy his first meal sitting down with the whole family.  Well, almost the whole family.  Poor Jagger was sick so Kelly, Chad, and the kids couldn’t make it unfortunately. 

Friday we went to the Festival of Trees where Cooper got to see all kinds of characters; Rudolph, Frosty, and even Santa.  It was extremely comical when he saw Santa for the first time.  As he was sitting on his lap he looked up and tugged on his beard.  Santa was cooperative of course and we got some very cute pictures out of it. 

Before we knew it, it was Sunday and we were heading back to Atlanta.  As always, the time went by way too fast.  It was great to see everyone and for everyone to see Cooper and how much he has changed since our last visit.  We’re not sure when we will get to see everyone again, who knows what Coop will be up to by then.
