Start of Summer

With the start of Summer we were so lucky to take a few weeks to visit our dear friends, Zach, Kim, Kody, Bear and the newest addition, Breckyn as well as spend some time in New York visiting Scott's family. This would be Cooper's first road trip so we were very nervous how he would do since he has not been the best in his car seat these days! Luckily, not too long before our trip I got an ipad so we were sure to download lots of apps, movies and songs to keep Coop busy during our long trip. The 1st leg started at 7:00pm in hopes Coop would sleep through the night and when he woke we would be in Maryland, a 10 hour trip. Scott drove the whole trip only stopping to get gas! Cooper did great only waking a couple of times and falling back asleep pretty easily. One lesson we learned on the trip...the static of a AM radio station works just as well as Cooper's sound machine!

Once we made it to Maryland, we were spoiled, like normal! It was so nice to spend time with Breckyn and see the two kids interact. We can't wait for next year for all of us to get together again! On Sunday, Scott dropped me at the airport so I could fly to Cleveland for work while he continued on to New York. Even with traffic and construction, Cooper was a trooper and they made it safe and sound to NY! During our time in New York, we spent time at Camp Petie, celebrated our niece Harlow's 1st birthday, saw lots of friends and family we haven't seen in a while and soaked up as much time as possible with all of our nieces and nephews! Lola, Dawn's god-daughter turned 6 a couple weeks before our visit to NY and as part of her birthday present they spent the day at the spa...Dawn took Lola to get her hair and nails done and went for lunch in Saratoga. It was such a nice day and I'm not sure who enjoyed it more - Lola or her Aunt Dawn!

The time in New York went fast like usual but we made so many memories while we were home. We will treasure them forever!

Luckily, we were able to stop back through the Holt's on the way home which broke up the trip really well for us. Cooper did amazing but we were all so glad to made it back home safe and sound!!
