Chris and Allie came to spend the weekend with us for New Year’s. We’re always excited to spend time with them but since we hadn’t seen them in a few months (and they hadn’t seen Cooper since their wedding in August) we were especially excited.
They got in Friday night, unfortunately too late to see Coop since he was fast asleep. He was up bright and early Saturday morning however and very excited to see his Unc and Aunt Allie. We exchanged our Christmas gifts first thing and spent the rest of the morning watching Cooper play with his new toys. From there it was time to start getting ready for New Year’s Eve and the Chick-fil-a Bowl!
We had some other friends coming over to watch the game and ring in the New Year, including Cooper’s good friend Braxton. Both boys were all decked out in their Auburn gear ready to cheer on the Tigers. Coop actually made it all the way to 8:15, well past his usually bed time of 7:00. The game came and went (Auburn won!) and before we knew it, it was midnight…..and 2012!
The next day the three of us went to Braxton’s 2nd birthday party. Cooper was one of the youngest children there but had an absolute blast. After the party we met back up the Chris and Allie at the house. We spent the rest of the evening visiting and catching up. We also got to see their wedding video for the first time. It seemed like only a short time had passed since then, hard to believe it has been four months already.
Before we knew it, it was Monday morning and time for them to leave. Like always, the time went by way too fast. It was great to see them and catch up on all that has gone on in our lives. We wish they were closer but are happy they are doing so well in Jacksonville. Although we don’t see them as often as we like, it makes us appreciate the time we do spend with them even more!
