Some of my good girlfriends had been planning a girl’s weekend for a while and honestly, I was a bit apprehensive to leave Scott with everything that had happened just a few weeks earlier. But with some support from Scott, I decided to head to the mountains with Sara, Ashley, Beth, August and Michelle. All of the girls, except for me, arrived Friday. Instead I decided to drive up Saturday morning-being gone two nights was just a bit much at the time! Since we hadn’t purchased a new car yet we decided to get a rental for the weekend so Scott wouldn’t be without a vehicle.
It was a great day filled with lots of laughs!! It was a completely different experience sober, but so fun nonetheless. We had a full day planned of winery tours complete with a driver for the whole day…which was even nice for my sober self. Sunday’s plans included a very nice brunch at a local winery and one last winery tour. But since Scott and I had just firmed up plans to head to NY for Thanksgiving and for a baby shower Scott’s family would be hosting, I headed home since Sunday was the only full day we had to register before heading to New York.
So Sunday came and I headed back to Atlanta to pick up Scott for the registering festivities. We knew where we wanted to register so we decided to complete the registry at Babies-R-Us first and go to A Room of Their Own later the next week. So in we walked to Babies-R-Us and immediately we were inundated with STUFF. We had no clue where to start, what to buy, which brands were the best, how many do we need of the item—I was in tears 20 minutes after arriving! It was not fun AT ALL!! So we struggled for 3 hours and finally had some semblance of a registry complete.
The following Thursday, Veterans Day, we headed to A Room of their Own to complete our registry there.
This experience was AWESOME, completely different from Babies-R-Us. The staff there was amazing –so helpful and knowledgeable and walked us through everything from strollers to rocker recliners. We even purchased the baby’s crib and dresser that day. It made up for the disaster the Sunday before to say the least!

It was a huge task that could now be crossed off the list, although there are many more looming. With each task we accomplish, this all becomes that much more of a reality!
