Dawn's Birthday

One of many things that Cooper has changed in our lives is how we celebrate Dawn’s birthday.  We typically would go to the beach for a few days and sip on drinks all day and/or have a big party at the house.  These days, it has turned into a much smaller version of the parties of the past and we are 0 for 2 on beach trips.  On Saturday, we had a small group of our close friends over for a cookout.  Although we were together to celebrate Dawn’s birthday, it was a great time for all the kids to get together and play.  Cooper, Braxton, and Bryce all had a great time playing while Carter and Hudson took it all in.  It was a fun night and, as always, was great to spend time with our friends and their children.

Although Dawn had to work on her actual birthday, she was able to sneak out a little early.  In typical Dawn fashion, she chose for us to take Cooper to an indoor play area rather than do something for herself.  We all had a blast, especially Cooper.  Although he is still pretty small, there is no slide or ride that he won’t go on.  We always have to keep a close watch on him because he likes to watch what the big kids are doing and follow their lead.  After taking Coop to play, we all went to dinner at Provino’s.  Anyone that knows us knows that this is a birthday tradition for us going back to our Auburn days. 

Although it was much more low key and toned down than years past, it was still a great time.  No matter how the time is spent, it is all made so much more special to have the little man to spend it with!
